Pet Friend Coir Reptile Substrate - Ready To Use
Pet Friend Coir is a ready to use Substrate ideal for many types of tropical rainforest and woodland species, it is produced from the by-product of coconut processing and is an excellent natural, renewable and environmentally friendly substrate. Coir has excellent moisture retaining properties making it suitable for amphibians such as newts and frogs, invertebrates including land snails and spiders and many species of reptiles and tortoises.
Coir is a fantastic product for mixing with other topsoils. Its water retaining properties help reduce soil compaction and drying out, enabling you to give your pets, wether they be insects, amphibians, frogs, spiders or tortoises the perfect substrate mix.

How to use
Spread a suitable layer of Coir over the base of the vivarium or enclosure. Add water to the mix as required and monitor the humidity with a Hydrometer.
Coir can also be mixed with soil substrates to help prevent soil compaction and drying out. You will need to experiment with the coir soil mix depending on the species but by doing so you should be able to produce the perfect blended substrate for any woodland or forest species.
Please note that a Heat Mat should not be used under the substrate as it could be liable to overheat.
